Apply to Become a Board Member

As a non-profit organization, the Yancey Humane Society looks to the Board of Directors for guidance and governance. Our Board of Directors creates and reviews policy, provides fiscal oversight, helps raise needed funds, and makes important organizational decisions. The Board is made up of people just like you, community members who believe in our mission to provide shelter and care for homeless, injured and neglected animals through adoption, community outreach, retention services, and educational programs. We are looking for people from all different backgrounds and a variety of skill sets – you don’t have to be directly involved in animal welfare or even have pets of your own!

Are you passionate about creating a humane community in which people and animals live together in harmony?

Want to use your voice, connections and skills to make a difference?

Are you a motivated individual seeking to connect in a meaningful way for the greater good?

Are you willing to raise awareness, followers, and funds?

Are you willing to be available for monthly board meetings and help with special projects and fundraising?
