The Yancey County Humane Society offers low-cost animal rabies vaccinations clinics for dogs and cats twice a year. The next vaccination clinic will be held in the spring of 2024, date to be announced.
We also offer low-cost rabies vaccinations by appointment, so give us a call if you can’t make the clinic and we will schedule a time for you to come in.
The vaccination cost is $10 per pet. Cash, check and credit are the accepted forms of payment. If you’re paying by cash, please bring exact change, if possible.
Know Before You Arrive
In order to be vaccinated, your animal must be at least 12 weeks old and secured on a leash or in an escape-proof carrier. Muzzles are required for aggressive dogs.
Information We Need at Registration
If you have been to our rabies clinic in the past, please let us know as you will most likely already be in our system along with your pet. This will speed up the registration process. We will ask for the following information:
- Full Name (of the pet owner)
- Phone Number
- Email Address
- Name of your dog(s)/cat(s)
- Age (can be an estimate if you are not sure)
All pets will receive a one-year rabies certificate and tag. We are prohibited by law to give the 3 year rabies vaccination.
