Vaccination Clinic

The Yancey County Humane Society offers low-cost animal rabies vaccinations clinics for dogs and cats throughout the year. For clinic dates and times, follow us on Facebook for announcements or check back on this website.

At the vaccination clinics, we typically offer rabies, DAPP (canine booster), FVRCP (feline booster) and a microchip. The cost is typically $10.00 each or 3 for $25.00, although the fees and the type of vaccinations we offer may vary based on whether we have received grant monies. Cash, check and credit are the accepted forms of payment. If you’re paying by cash, please bring exact change, if possible.

We also offer low-cost rabies vaccinations at the animal shelter during regular operating hours for $10.00 per vaccination.

Know Before You Arrive

In order to be vaccinated, your animal must be at least 12 weeks old and secured on a leash or in an escape-proof carrier. Muzzles are required for aggressive dogs.

Information We Need at Registration

If you have been to our rabies clinic in the past, please let us know as you will most likely already be in our system along with your pet.  This will speed up the registration process. We will ask for the following information:

All pets will receive a one-year rabies certificate and tag. We are prohibited by law to give the 3 year rabies vaccination.
